Mitch Williams was 4th in saves in '93. I'm just sayin'.

He had an ERA over 5 this year with 8 blown saves. He's garbage.

I think if Boston loses 2 of the first 3, they have to throw Josh in game 4 and hope he can even the series back up. But then who do you throw in game 5? Wakefield,Lester or Schil on short rest? Of course if Boston wins the first 2 it's a moot point. Should be a great series.
If I'm the Red Sox, this would be my rotation:

Game 1: Beckett
Game 2: Schilling
Game 3: Dice-K
Game 4: Beckett (3 days rest)
Game 5: Schilling
Game 6: Dice-K
Game 7: Beckett

With this funky new schedule there's an extra day off between games 4 and 5. This means your Game 2 pitcher can pitch Game 5 on normal rest. Your Game 3 pitcher can pitch Game 6 on normal rest. If you pitch Beckett on 3 days rest in Game 4, you could pitch him on normal rest in Game 7. I'd take Wakefield and Lester in case Beckett can't go very long in Game 4, but I don't see a need to start either of them. Unless the Red Sox are up 3-0, Beckett should start Game 4.

I heard on the radio this morning that there's a possibility of a rain this weekend in Boston. Could play havoc with the schedule.

Yup. Right now it looks like Friday's game could be in trouble.

Could cause some problems, but man, isn't it nice to finally have some October weather for some playoff games?

I'm thoroughly jealous of you guys up there.

Right now, it doesn't look like the rain will stop the game. I asked the meteorologist (I work at a tv station), and he said that right now, the rain looked like it was going to stop around 2-4pm. Of course, that could change

Yah the forecast I just saw had the rain coming in tomorrow night and during the day Friday instead of Friday night like they originally predicted. Should be good to go.
