Re: MLB Off-Topic 2013

So over the weekend in a fit of insomnia I happened to read a couple blogs that threw out speculation based on the fact that there's been little to no movement on re-upping Tim McCarver past this year (his contract expires at the end of the year) and one blogger contacted some network muckety mucks to see who FOX may replace McCarver. The names are as follows:

Ron Darling (UGH!)
John Smoltz (don't think he'd mesh too well with Buck)
Terry Francona (Um, he's kinda busy but it does show that ESPN and FOX were very impressed by his broadcasting work)
Bob Brenly (the most likely choice, he knows the culture at FOX and has worked with Buck before)

Re: MLB Off-Topic 2013

If McCarver goes, something tells me that Buck isn't far behind him. Buck has made it clear that he loves football and that he does Baseball for the paycheck. It would be a Godsend if they could get both of those clowns out of the booth.

Re: MLB Off-Topic 2013

Random article so I figured I'd put it in here:

I had no idea Albert was such an elite fielding first baseman. Like I knew he was really good, but had no idea having not seen many Cardinals games over the last few years.

Bobby V thinks he did a "good" job in Boston.

and I thought I did a (good) job in Boston. I thought what had to be done there, had to be done except for winning a pennant. But Connie Mack wouldn't have won with that team.

Pretty neat little short film. If you are not familiar with T206 set, nor the history behind the Honus Wagner card mystery, watch this.

Milwaukee Brewers racing sausage missing after bender.

Quote:
Police are investigating the theft of the $3,000 Italian Sausage costume that is used in the sausage races at Miller Park during Milwaukee Brewers games, accord to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The costume was in the backroom of the new Cederburg, Wis., location of the Milwaukee Curling Club during a beer tasting and curling event Feb. 16. A witness saw someone leave in the costume around 7:45 p.m., and that's when the sausage story gets a little spicier.

Cedarburg police detective Jeff Vahsholtz told the Journal Sentinel that the sausage then went barhopping around town, appearing at two establishments and posing for pictures with patrons.

"We thought it was funny at the time," Vahsholtz said, according to the newspaper. "Now we're just hoping someone returns it."

Vahsholtz did not say whether the person who took the costume would face charges.
