I thought this was a joke or something. Not that I have an issue with the name, the name reveal just came out of nowhere.

Don't like the logo though.

It looks like some logo that's an option for your fantasy baseball team.

So many missed opportunities:



1. Spiders logo (look at how cool the middle one at the top is)
2. Could've called the stadium "The Web presented by Progressive"
3. Team mascot is Miss Muffet, so few female mascots so could've been unique
4. Throwback jerseys!

Guardians does make sense based on that tweet I posted. Not all names have to do with something specific about the city, but at least the Guardians name isn't completely random.

If the logo was good, don't think people would care as much about the name.

Look at basketball. OKC Thunder isn't a bad name, I don't like the look.

In hockey, Seattle Kraken obviously has mixed reviews, but it isn't a bad look.

Pelicans is a dumb name, and isn't made better by trying to make it look like a badass pelican. But I guess New Orleans has pelicans, so...

In a facetious manner, I still stand by Cleveland Rocks. But no, Spiders seems like it would've been good. Too bad the current name and Chief Wahoo branding can't remain, though I understand.

Cleveland Guardians name and logo just feels pretty generic.
