To me, parity is not the same 1 or 2 teams winning. I.E. not the NBA

Just going back to 2000

2000: Dominant Yankees/Mets first pennant in 14 years
2001: Dominant Yankees/Arizona's first pennant and win
2002: Giants first pennant in 13 years/Angels first pennant and win
2003: Yankees/Marlins 2nd title in just 10 years of existence
2004: Red Sox first pennant in 18 years and first win in 86 years/Cardinals first pennant in 14 years
2005: Astros first pennant (first World Series ever in Texas)/ White Sox first pennant in 46 years and first win in 86 years
2006: Tigers first pennant in 22 years/ Cardinals first win in 24 years
2007: Red Sox/ Rockies first pennant
2008: Ray's first pennant/ Phillies first pennant in 15 years and first win in 28 years
2009: Yankees first pennant in 6 years and first win in 9 years/Phillies first back-to-back pennants
2010: Rangers first pennant/Giants first pennant in 8 years, first win in 56 years
2011: Rangers first back-to-back pennants/ Cardinals first win in 5 years
2012: first WS sweep in 22 years and first NL non-Reds sweep in 46 years
2013: Red Sox first Fenway clinch in 95 years
2014: Royals first pennant in 29 years/Giants 3rd title in 5 years
2015: Royals first win in 30 years/Mets first pennant in 15 years
2016: Cubs first pennant and win in 108 years/ Indians first pennant in 19 years
2017: Dodgers first pennant in 29 years/Astros first AL pennant (seeking first ever win after 55 years)

2011-2014 had the least parity, but those Series' were still great (outside of 2012).

There is no major sport played in America with more parity than baseball. When I say parity I mean in any given year, the % of the league that could actually win the title.

Don't want to derail the thread but I just don't see parity when the playing field is not level (ie 100M+ payroll differences).

And in 2015 the team with the lowest payroll won. Anyone can beat anyone on any day. That's parity.

So I guess the Premier League has parity because Leicester won once. Payroll is a non-factor.

Yep, that's exactly what I'm saying. Nailed it.

In baseball, 15 times in the last 17 years the team with the hightest payroll didn't win the championship.

Matter of fact, for the sake of making lists.

Been fun to see Bregman mature in a fairly short time. Would love to see him turn into an Utley type player overall and he certainly seems to have the constitution for it.

Now onto important observations.... the only logo behind home plate that would seem more distracting than YouTube's would be Target's!
