Schwarber and Baez combined for 35 HRs. Ramirez and Lindor combined for 52.

I don't care who they put in the home run derby as I stopped watching it years ago.

That is partially the fault of MLB.

Aguilar is atop the NL in HR (23), slugging, OPS and OPS+ (165). He's arguably one of the best players in the league this year but you (along with many others I assume) have never heard of him. He also needed to get in on the Final Vote which is odd in of itself.

Muncy is having a breakout year as well. These guys are both on similar paths as big leaguers who took a few years to get things going and would make for great stories but, alas, it's MLB and they have great difficulty promoting players.

What's your opinion on Michael Brantley? Does he deserve to be on the All-Star team over someone like Eddie Rosario?

Sure. But to me Baez and Schwarber have more raw power and can put on a good show, which is what the HRD is about. In-game power doesn't always translate

That's a pretty terrible HRD lineup I have to say. Also weird that they've only gone with Bregman from the AL. The entire 8 guys have only three 30 homer seasons between them

Baez doesn't have as much raw power as either ramirez or lindor. It's not even close really. Plus you have to have decent contact numbers to be in the HRD, no one wants to watch a bunch of whiffs and pop ups

Re: 2018 All-Star Weekend- Washington, DC

A couple All-Star Weekend notes

- The managers for the Futures Game will be Torii Hunter and David Ortiz both of whom will be miked up. Speaking of that....

- Greg Amsinger was on the radio here last night and dropped a tidbit that this year's ASG will be the most miked up in history. So if you were annoyed with all the players being miked up last year than prepare for more of the same this year.
