Additions: Descalso, Vasto, Field, Hamels (option), Wick (trade), Reinheimer, Ryan, Lillis-White (trade), Graveman (hurt), Barnette, Cedeno
Subtractions: Smyly, Vosler, La Stella
Grade: D+. Will probably find a serviceable bullpen arm or two in the bunch. Descalso might be a useful player. Did not add anything of note to a thin bullpen suffering from Brandon Morrow being made of glass. Options such as Kimbrel, Miller, Robertson, Allen, Herrera, Ottavino etc were all available. Poor budget management in the previous 2 years and inability to find any solutions to dump payroll sidelined the franchise during one of the most ballyhooed free agent classes ever. Much lip service to trying harder rather than getting better.
