So we have a boneheaded decision by Wisdom to make a wild late throw to 1B with zero chance to get Starling Marte, which puts the Mets' ghost runner on 3rd. Now, with Givens really in a bind, after walking Lindor to load 'em up, he ever so gently grazes Pete Alonso on the elbow guard in a 0-2 count to force in the go ahead run.

Then, with Givens getting into a rhythm after a GIDP, Ross makes an unnecessary pitching change in the 2nd game of an extra inning double header. The Cubs proceed to throw a ball into the outfield to let the Mets get an insurance run.

This is Cubs baseball in the year of our lord 2022.
