Re: How many games should Andrew Bynum get?

sorry guys for getting heated up here. just looked to me like it was incidental contact and bynum judged the play wrong. i grew up watching ball where you could foul a guy hard and that wasn't a big deal. i don't even see this as that type of case. just a young kid not recognizing the play right and BAM, hard contact. i think he tried to put his hands up to contest what he thought was going to be a different move.

regardless, i shouldn't have gone off the handle. sorry kash... all, my bad.

LOL @ this thread predictions of how many games he should get.

No doubt it was a Flagrant 2, but a suspension...come on...I've seen worse fouls.

And after seeing that Morrison foul on Gasol, that should have been a flagrant (no suspension though).

ESPN has confirmed that Bynum will not face a suspension.

At least Bynum showed some class in trying to talk to Wallace. Surprised though that he didn't get something.

What I don't get is a flagrant 2 is suppose to carry an automatic 1 game suspension. So why up the foul to a flagrant 2 but carry the suspension that is suppose to go with it??

I think a flagrant 2 is an automatic ejection, not suspension. Upgrading it affects the penalty if Bynum commits more infractions over the course of the season.

I know it is an automatic ejection but I thought it carried a one game suspension with it. I'll have to check. I know that updating affects his points total towards a suspension.

It's up to the league to decide if a suspension is giving for a flagrant 2. I remember Martin getting one last year and getting an auto one game but forgot it was for his point total.
