If Arenas has a major impact next year then I will be surprised. He is mainly a streak shooter who can easily win games when he is hot. But that is the problem with Gilbert....... he is very streaky. Too many times he will totally abandon the offense to fire up a contested 20 foot jumper with 18 seconds left on the shot clock.

He has other shortcomings as well which include a total lack of defense, he does not move well at all when he doesnt have the ball, and for him to be most effective he needs to go 1 on 1 while Jamison and Butler just stand around and watch. He is like a mini Iverson in actuality. Very talented player but there are about 6 other shooting guards (yes I said shooting guard) I would take before him:

Kobe Bryant
Dwyane Wade
Manu Ginobli
Rip Hamilton
Ray Allen
Joe Johnson

Don't know about Manu or JoJo as I think he is a streak shooter as well but overall I agree with everything else you said.

I wouldn't even call him a mini Iverson as he lacks the handles IMO and especially his quickness.
