Bottom of the top 50

Please don't tell me you thought I meant bottom 50 in the entire league

I did

It's OS' NBA board. This is the same place where people have said Kobe isn't a top 20 player.

5. Tim Duncan, PF, Spurs
7. Kevin Garnett, PF, Celtics
8. Dirk Nowitzki, PF, Mavericks
Sorry, but at this late stage of their careers... Dirk Nowitzki is clearly playing better than either Tim Duncan or Kevin Garnett. Not to diminish Duncan or Garnett's previous accomplishments, but those guys have clearly lost a step in recent years. Garnett put up some of his career lows in points, rebounds, and blocks last year. Duncan didn't put up much of a fight when Dirk bounced him off the playoffs six months ago.

In contrast, Dirk Nowitzki is playing better now than he ever did in his MVP season.

Yep. Still though, I'm not so hung up on ranking the top of the top players. Splitting hairs is not so fun.

However some of the included players are just outlandish.

I also question Richard Jefferson.

Gilbert and Shaq are at the bottom 50 at this point.

No Al Jefferson, Chris Kaman, Monta Ellis, Gerald Wallace, Caron Butler, Antawn Jamison.. questionable.
Instantly, a ********-*** list w/out those players somewhere on it.

Re: NBA's Top 50 NBA Players

Gilbert Arenas is not a top 50 player this year. Might as well be earl Boykins.

These lists are always terrible, but they are especially so when put out a month into the season.

In the offseason, you project last year to this year. However, now you have to balance careers with 1/5th of a season where a player can be playing very up or very down.
