Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread

I apologize for taking this so far off topic, but I'll leave it at this: Next time I'm in Chi-town, I'm taking pictures of the overwhelming number of wildebeasts and poo-putts littering the streets of the Windy City. Not going to bother defending NY or West LA, because people who've been to both towns know what's up.

agree completely

and he says NY girls eat, well buddy let me tell you 1st hand when the weather gets nice in NYC its like Christmas morning with the talent walking around that city. Dont even act like Chicago has the talent NY has.

And a whole whopping 2 days will explain everything. Good luck man, I'm done here.

My apologies for taking it off topic as well.

Re: The Official "Where is LeBron going?" Thread

Forbes article on why LeBron would go to NY speaking more on the financial side of things:

Quote:
A year ago I wrote that the sale of 15% of the Cleveland Cavaliers and operating rights to Quicken Loans Arena to Chinese investors meant LeBron James would bolt Cleveland when he became a free agent. Now I am telling you next season LeBron will be playing for the New York Knicks because this January they became the only franchise that can use their stock as currency.

They cannot pay James with MSG stock because it would violate the league's collective bargaining agreement. But there is nothing to stop James from buying shares of MSG with his money. This would allow James to in essence work for himself and capture the upside in revenue from higher ratings on the MSG RSN, a soon-to-be renovated Madison Square Garden and much higher profits he will bring to these platforms.

interesting concept. The attention he would get in NY would be greater than anywhere else. People may disagree with that but those same people that disagree are the same ones that get annoyed with how much the media overhypes or talks about New York. If he brought the Knicks to being a title contender then the city would be electric during basketball season, the Garden would be rocking, the celebs would be out in full force, the media would be all over them.

And this idiot's reasoning?

Quote:
Even more important for New York Knick or New Jersey Net fans, it tells me that majority owner Dan Gilbert knows he will not have LeBron to count on to sell suites and sponsorships for too much longer.
...yeah...
