Re: Top 5 worst defenders

Boozer might play the best fake defense in fake defense history.

but not one of the worst ever...and being a sub-par on ball defender, but one of the greatest off-ball defenders certainly doesn't average out as "bad defender"

not ahead of the other guys I mentioned (Nash, Maravich, Gervin, Melo)

To me, Carmelo Anthony.

I've never seen someone so lost in defense. Most of the times he doesn't know where to go on defense, and to see his teammates push him to send him in the right direction just makes me facepalm.

Re: Top 5 worst defenders

Melo is tolerable as an on-ball defender. When it comes to rotating and help, forget it.

Amare is so weird, I've never seen a good player with worse anticipation skills. He never anticipates anything on D or a rebound, he just waits for things to happen and then reacts. He never thinks one step ahead. It's crazy how many rebounds he gets by chance because the ball basically bounces right into his chest. He's pretty much flat-footed as most missed shots come off the rim.

He'll never be guarding someone in an iso situation, like the great Boris Diaw for example, and be like "Ok, this cat went right on me four straight times, I'm going to sit on it and the first twitch I see from him I'm jumping to take his right away."
