Re: How did he make the NBA

What people can't understand is the size AND quickness these NBA athletes posses. Yes, you might be 6'3" and think you're pretty quick, but an NBA power forward is 6'9" and QUICKER than you.

I have been on the same court with several guys who either starred or played in the NBA for a short time and a player who ended up playing several years with the Globetrotters. It's unreal how easy they make everything and I'm sorry, but unless we've got Trey Burke, Mason Plumlee and Cody Zeller posting on here I just don't see any OS'rs being able to hang with these guys, even spotted a 50 point lead.

I'm sure plenty 6'9" power forwards are much stronger, faster, quicker, etc than I am.

But not a guy like Steve Blake. He would I'm sure have a quickness advantage on me. Any NBA PG probably would. But I would bet money that in a dead sprint I'm about as fast as he is, I know I can jump higher, and I'm sure I'm stronger as well.

Shoot, how many months would you need to be able to compete with them? 1 month? 2 months? A year?

I respect that some of you have self confidence though.
I don't think any of us could ever compete with them. I'm just saying we could score more than zero points lol.

And the only reason I pick a guy like Steve Blake is because he doesn't have that mind blowing speed/athleticism/quickness combo that would leave me looking like a 7th grader. And he isn't big enough to just over power me the way a built PG or a SG would.

Why it gotta be Steve Blake though?

Why can't it be someone like Eddie House? Or Damon Jones? Or Marco Bellineli? Or Chris Duhon? LOL

So basically, you guys would get nothing more than a Moral Victory from it then?

I think ya'll would score more than 0, but I also think that ya'll would still lose by like 20 minimum

All that is well and good, but I didn't know you were going to run windsprints and measure vertical jumps to see who won this competition. There is a reason he's in the NBA and you and I aren't: he's a basketball player. Think about this: he is evaluated by the best basketball experts in the world and is still payed to play against these amazing athletes we're talking about...he'd take our manhood and not break a sweat doing it.

Yes, basically.. And probably more than 20. I didn't ever think it would be a game.

Give me House or Jones.. I think Bellineli or Duhon would make me look stupid lol.

I wasn't ever saying I could beat the guy. I'm saying he's one of the few guys I feel like I could score a few points on. I probably couldn't stop him from doing whatever he wanted offensively, but he's not the kind of guy who I think could just shut me down for an entire game. Wether it be 1 on 1 or 5 on 5.

I have a decent amount of confidence in my game without being overly cocky about it. That's half the battle at least. Not going in scared. I have aspects to my game that I've worked very hard to get them where they are at now.

I wasn't trying to say that it would be a sprint or vertical jump competition. I was just trying to say that his level of athleticism would not be enough to make it look like a high school kid playing a pee wee kid.

The best 5 OSers would easily get ran out of the gym by 5 D-Leaguer's. It wouldn't even be close.

Hell, I would go as far as to say that a bad college team would beat the best 5 OSers going away, as well. About a month ago I scored a free ticket to LSU vs UTC and those guys on UTC were actually pretty damn good; yet they have a losing record on the year and none of them will probably ever sniff the D-League.

So unless there's 4-5 former college players hanging out on OS, then all I can say is good luck.
