That trade makes zero sense to me for Philly all around they paid someone to take a former 3rd overall pick to go away. I mean surely atleast someone would have offered a better deal then this

Booker is a really, really good pickup for Philly. Allows Ben to make a full-time switch to point, gives them a tough-nosed athletic big man who can occasionally shoot the three ball.

He's gonna toughen those boys up.

I doubt he even sees much floor time. Johnson, Embiid, Saric are all better outside shooters than him. And Ben is already exclusively a PG with Redick, Covington, Saric, Embiid.

You talking about Amir Johnson?

He’s been terrible(numbers wise since I haven’t watched him this year)compared to Booker and if we’re talking outside shooting, Booker has the edge this year.

Re: 2017-18 Transaction Thread

Yeah I meant Amir, don’t know his percentage this season just knew he’s been a reliable outside shooter when open for the past few years now. Regardless he only plays a few minutes a game, along with Holmes, even TLC gets a few minutes at the 4, all behind Saric who gets starter minutes there. And now they add Booker to that logjam.

Maybe they’ll make Johnson/Holmes exclusively back up 5’s behind Embiid, but either way they traded a young talented big because they couldn’t fit him in their rotation, just like they can’t get consistent minutes from all the other bigs on the roster, and replaced him with another big.

Not that Booker isn’t talented enough to make a difference, I just struggle to see where he’ll get enough run to really provide an impact. Maybe he will, I would think Holmes would be the guy that fits best off the bench for them going forward. And even if Booker took pretty much all of Amir’s minutes you’re only look at maybe 10-15 minutes a game. Possibly even less when they get back Fultz and figure out a way to work him into the rotation.

I think the Nets did well in this trade, but the Sixers could have done better IMO. Even if they just shipped him off for a 2nd rounder somewhere they would have that pick and their own still.

Re: 2017-18 Transaction Thread

The pick they shipped off was the Knicks’ and it’s for 2019. What’s funny is that was part of a Travis OutLOL trade, lol.

Bulls guarantee David Nwaba’s contract for the remainder of the season. GarPax actually making a smart decision in picking him up in the first place and picking up his deal for the year now as well.

The Lakers had to get rid of him to give KCP a few extra hundred thousands of dollars, such a bad call.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.
