Smart, tough player. I think he'll be a multiple All Star. Haven't watched Barnes play yet.
His shot has been rough. I remember someone posting an article about him having a really bad workout with Toronto and I can understand why now.

I think his shot was good in my opinion. Can it be off at times yes. Looks like it could use some work overall. Just needs time.

Re: NBA Rookie Report: 2021-22

#1 in my heart, Alperen Sengun's game has translated pretty smoothly to the NBA so far. Not shooting it well from the mid-range or 3 point line right now, but his finishing around the rim, free throw drawing abilities, and ability to bait guards into pocket passes for steals have all translated. He's currently shooting 75% at the rim and has an astounding 88.9% free throw rate right now (where he's shooting 75% as well). On the defensive end, he's averaging over 2 steals per game and a little under 1 block per game in 17.5 minutes.

It seems like every year Hassan Whiteside is near the top of the league in shots blocked. But I don’t know if he’s widely recognized as a good/elite defender.

Re: NBA Rookie Report: 2021-22

Contested shots feels a bit early, not that all stats aren’t, but a big chunk of the league has only played 3 games to the Cavs 4. He may still lead in contested per game, which would be a good showing for a rookie for sure.
