Are there legal consequences for this?

Why does it always seem that sports leagues are somehow able to supercede the law and opt to issue suspensions or not, without the legal consequences being written about?

The notion of athletes being exempt from the law may or may not be valid, but when reports and articles make no mention of legal consequences, it's hard not to believe such is the case to some extent.

he's an innocent, free man until at least dec 28th. it'd be wrong for the niners to suspend him at least until then.
