Never said it was, just doesn't happen all the time.

All bets should be off in the case of a block though. Terrible rule.
Remember Leon Lett? One of the most celebrated/notorius plays in NFL history.

Same thing. Don't touch the ball if you hear a double tap and it's beyond the LOS.

That was a great lead block by McNeill on LT's TD run.

dude should get ATLEAST some ROY consideration...he's been a franchise Left tackle as a rookie.

(lol and as I say that he commits a false start penalty)

14-3 at the half.

SD Defense has played well. Offense is out of synch. Offense really has been out of synch a lot in the first halves of games this year.

Lots of game left to go.

It's a stupid rule.....like the extra try for the onside kick when it doesn't go 10yds. Rules should not penalize an outstanding (and typically rare) defensive play. It's hard enough to play D in today's NFL with all of the ticky tack rule changes. The Chiefs defender who tipped the ball did not have possession. I could see the rule being if he had possession and coughed it, then certainly SD gets the ball back. I bet we see a rule change by next year.

I agree that it sucks, but the problem is how do you differentiate this play from a play where the ball is barely tipped and still travels 40 yards down the field, then gets muffed by the receiving team?
