Re: Pro-Bowl Selection Show(4PM Eastern)

For All-Star games and Pro Bowls to have any legitimacy whatsoever, the fans shouldn't be allowed to vote. Plain and simple. If the fans are trusted with the vote, it will always be a popularity contest first and foremost. If I had my ways, every All-Star team would be decided by a combined vote among players and coaches, with maybe some media mixed in as well to offset everyone voting for teammates. But the fan vote is the #1 reason why All-Star games in every sport are a big joke.

And don't even get me started on the internet voting for the NHL ASG....

i agree. but also, there are probably a lot of politics among the players voting their peers for the pro-bowl.

imo, they should count the players/coaches and who the fans want to see as part of the vote...but the majority of the vote should be determined by a committee that actually researches who deserves it.

The nba has a good system for selecting, even though people still get in on name alone as far as starters go.

i know one thing. Terence Newman should be a pro-bowler this season. I call BS if he's not.

Warren's probably had his best season this season since he left Tampa Bay.

I would be less mad to see Warren Sapp in than Roy Williams, but that's just me. But I think Jamal Williams should be a lock for starting DT, bar none.

I'm assuming Jeff Garcia will be starting for both the NFC and AFC?

Travesty that more Ravens aren't in for defense. Bart Scott, AD, Trevor Pryce, even Buddy Lee all deserve to go. But then again, I can be a homer at times I guess.
