Re: Can any player with the ball behind the LoS throw it?

I too have a football question...

Say there's a play on 3rd & 6. The offensive player gets the ball and fumbles. The defensive player actually gets the ball and starts running the other way. As he's hit, he fumbles and the team originally playing offense recovers. Do the downs reset or would it be 4th & whatever?

Downs reset as there was a change of possession.

Re: Can any player with the ball behind the LoS throw it?

something i have been wondering lately is...

say a RB runs past the LOS after a backwards toss...then throws it back to the QB, who is still being the LOS...can the QB then throw a forward pass?? kinda like an over-developed flea-flicker.

i have a good knowledge of the rules, but not sure about this one.

I don't have any rule quotes, but I'm pretty sure that once the ball crosses the line of scrimmage you cannot throw a forward pass.

That is correct. Once the LOS is broken, you cannot go back and re-establish the LOS and make a forward pass.

Re: Can any player with the ball behind the LoS throw it?

Has a triple pass ever been executed? example you know the play where the reciever takes a couple steps back catches the "long lateral" and then throws the ball down field. well what if that play turned into a flea flicker like play and instead of going down field threw it behind him back to the quarter back who then through it down field. This seems totally unneeded and not practical at all but I am wondering if it has ever been executed in a sanctioned game. whether it be college pro or HS

So let me get this straight.
QB throws a lateral to the WR.
WR throws a lateral back to the QB.
QB then throws a pass down field.

That would seem completely legal to me.
