The only reason nobody remembers the regular season is because no one has ever gone 16-0. Are you telling me that if they don't win it all, everyone will forget that they went 16-0? I doubt it very much. People will remember that for a very long time. Whether they they say that the Pats choked in the playoffs, or won it all, they will still remember.

Plus, it's not like they haven't won any rings. I personally want to see them win another SB, of course. But consider this: Can you name the last ten SB winners off the top of your head? I'm sure some of you can, but I bet you forget at least 1.

Now, will you ever forget that the Pats went 16-0 in 2007, if they are fortunate enough to do so? I doubt it. You'll only have to remember ONE team, the 2007 Pats.

Agreed.

This is the basepoint of my post(s) earlier, in which I referenced how I would rather go 16-0 than win the Super Bowl this year.

Don't get me wrong, the Super Bowl is the ultimate goal in a season. But going 16-0 is history, it has NEVER been done before. Fifty years from now people will still remember the New England Patriots as being the only team in NFL history to go 16-0 in a regular season. Where as no one will remember who won the Super Bowl.

Saying no one remembers the regular season is basically b/c the season doesn't end with the regular season. The pats need to go 19-0 to have an undefeated season. I'm sure there's a team or two that have gone 18-1 and won a SB which would be more impressive than going 18-1 and losing one, even if you finish the regular season without a loss.
