Re: Derek Anderson: Who does he play for in 2008?

He had a great season, but I highly doubt he will be a guy to take the Browns to the next level. He has the lowest completition percentage in the NFL by far, and many of his completitions can be attributed to Joe Jurevicious, Braylon Edwards, and Kellen Winslow making exceptional catches. He consistently has problems throwing the 6-10 yard pass, as most of them are either behind his intended reciever or at his feet. He rarely hits a WR in stride, which is a big concern. Although he does have a cannon for an arm, his accuracy is very questionable. Much of his improvement can arguably be attributed to Chudzinski coming in as OC, and the O-Line. He has improved from last year, but I think if you can get any value for him you take it, especially when your future is sitting on the bench ready to show what he can do.

Let him walk, get a decent draft pick, and draft some D-Linemen.

ExtremeGamer what are your thoughts on this matter?
He's in Cleveland next year. I don't see a team giving us a 1st and 3rd for him, but if they do, I'll be all over it.

Quinn is Cleveland's future.

Agreed, if anyone is willing to give a 1st and a 3rd hes gone, if not he'll be back for atleast 1 more year. Benefit of Quinn falling into the 20's on draft day is his contract isn't going to kill us even if hes warming the bench for a couple seasons.

Why would Cleveland just sign Dorsey to a three year extension through 2010 if they didn't plan on getting rid of one of the the other two QB's?

He can come to Carolina, they sure need a future QB.. I'd be willing to give up a 2nd n 3rd round pick for him..

I think he stays. Hopefully he's not believing his own hype... he's a backup QB having a fine season. The best case scenario is that he stays and starts maybe a little longer next year before becoming Quinn's backup, similar to what Kitna did in Cincy. I'm not a Cleveland fan by any stretch of the imagination but it'd be kind of cool to see hometown hero, Quinn take Cleveland back to the top of the league like hometown hero, LeBron has done in the NBA. Of course Quinn isn't LeBron but the Browns are obviously close... would be a nice story.

As for the teams mentioned...

Chicago = already mentioned, they don't have the weapons for him to be successful

Detroit = their plan has been to use Kitna like Cincy did, getting ready for Stanton. don't see any reason for that to have changed.

Atlanta = this is a possibility but they need to draft someone to groom or get more of a sure thing since they've already tried Harrington and Leftwich... can't afford to have another iffy QB come in and flame out with that bad oline and shaky talent.

Minnesota = won't happen as mentioned, unless they're ready to literally get rid of Jackson.

Baltimore = that'd be an interesting story... it'd be a big mistake but with the hype around DA right now and the potential story, it's not out of the question.

Blue again?

I'm not super impressed by Anderson- low completion percentage and he's surrounded by two phenomenal talents at WR and TE.

I agree that Quinn is the future. If a team gives up a 1st and 3rd, Cleveland will have him on the first plane out of the city.
