It's fair.

If the Browns wanted to be in the playoffs, they should've taken care of business against Cleveland.

With that said, it sucks for the Brownies but the chances of the Colts driving and winning that game were slim to none anyway. They probably didn't want to risk an injury (maybe on Special Teams on a return?).

Still stupid though. NFL should fine the Colts for openly admitting (or maybe they should take a shot at Kerry Collins) that they willingly let Tennessee ice the game.

The Titans 99% were going to get a FG or quite possibly a TD where they were, so they were very likely at least going to be up by 9 by the time the Colts could have received the ball back.

The chance of winning like that with no timeouts and under 20 seconds left in the game just isn't worth the risk a late injury could occur. I mean the Colts backup offense was being manhandled late in the game as you'd expect from a top 3 D against scrubs, why risk losing depth (possibly even QB depth like Sorgi) for absolutely no gain?

The "you play to win" stuff is designed to take out any notion of losing for draft pick placement, it isn't meant to stop teams from resting starters and wanting to finish a meaningless game ASAP when they have the playoffs to think about. I'm not sure why anyone would be surprised they didn't take the timeout, the fact they rested their starters reasonably early on was proof enough they didn't care about winning the game, why would that change at the end of it.

Browns hurt themselves. They should have maintained control of their own destiny and won the games in front of them. They put themselves into the position of holding hands in front of the t.v. praying for the colts to win.

True, but I was just stating you have to try to win, even if you have all 3rd string guys out there, you should take your timeouts and see what happens.
