Yeah, he's a better WR than Cribbs at the moment.

I'd take that over some special teams tackles. Bears have great special teams, they don't need that.

Who's a better WR? Hester? Are you serious? Hester's a better WR than he was a DB but that's not saying much. They're trying to force him into being a WR to justify paying him what he's going to ask for come that time but he's not a good WR. Not even close. Not saying that Cribbs is but neither of them are at a place where comparisons can even be made at that position.

As for teams kicking away from Cribbs, why answer your own question if you don't really know the answer? Teams do kick away from Cribbs and the ones that don't pay... the Ravens have paid quite a few times for kicking to him. Hester is very good and I would consider him the best but it's not unthinkable that Cribbs or others could be on his level. Especially considering the other players on the field have a lot to do with the success of a returner too. Remember when Dante Hall was the best returner ever? Yeah, they tried to make him into a WR also.

Being the best returner takes longevity in my opinion. I don't think you can call any of these young guys the best ever after a season or two. They are amazing to watch though.

Re: Josh Cribbs: Better than Hester?

pretty irrelevant to compare hester to dante hall when hester has already done about the same in 2 years what it took dante a career to achieve

hester broke the return record in his rookie year and broke his own record again in his 2nd year

when many people before this season said he would fizzle out

how'd that turn out

No love for Hester's blockers? Where is the love for the big men...

It seems like he has huge holes especially on his punt returns from the games i've seen

most of those holes are created by hester

he does have a few runbacks where he has some nice blocking but on most of his returns, he eludes's 1-2 defenders to break free

one in particular, against minnesota in chicago, 3-4 vikings had him surrounded and he eluded them all and did it on his own

i have all his td's on 2 seperate wmv files

Re: Josh Cribbs: Better than Hester?

The KR blocking has been great for the Browns this season which is perfect for Cribbs North/South style. Cribbs hits the wedge like a sledgehammer. Hester I think does more with less.

Unrelated...Cribbs has a local access show called Josh's Cribb and he's got a ton of personality, real likeable kid. His wife appears occasionally and baby gurl is SMOKIN'. She looks like a younger, even THICKER version of Free.
