More than most people think. Hard to explain, we were shown a slide show during our academy training which showed 2 accidents already in 2008 where the seatbelt had caused such a severe laceration it fatally wounded the person. I will also say both cases were drunk drivers and collision reconstruction crews believe that it is caused by drunk drivers slouching down in their seats.

But Jmood dont get me wrong your better off wearing a seatbelt.

Anyways sad story. RIP Kiel

If the force of the accident was strong enough for people to suffer such severe lacarations from their seatbelt that they perished, imagine what would happen had they not worn it at all. I'd imagine they would have been thrown through the windshield at such a force that it would kill them 100000 times over.

This was a very troubled dude. He had issues like this since his days at A&M.

Sad, but I've always had trouble mustering up much sympathy for DUI offenders.
