Re: 49ers @ Saints

I had a feeling the Niners would look bad today thanks to the Kiss of Death Merril Hoge. He said that the Niners were one of the best teams playing right now and how O'Sullivan was a great QB under Martz's system.

Sheesh...I hope Hoge never talks up the Bills.

The amount of times we got sacked doesnt mean ****, we got sacked 6+ times last week I believe and we won so thats not indicative of anything. When we spread it out, we are going to get sacked, thats what happens when there is nobody to help out, but thats by design for some strange reason.

We had a ton of opportunities and we threw 2 picks in the end zone and failed to convert TD's and instead settled for FG's, thats why we lost. I dont see them as being destroyed since they moved the ball pretty consistently and only ran into turnover problems in the end zone, destroying someone is what happened to the Rams when they played Philly in week one.

EDIT- It was actually 28-17 until the Saints added a FG with 27 seconds left. The more I read your first part, the part in bold above, the more confused I get. The fact that it wasnt 31-17 for more then 27 seconds just further shows that it wasnt a blowout, or one team being destroyed, as you seem to think it was.

When those sacks along with the hurries lead to your team getting beat and had your quarterback throwing interceptions in the endzone then it is indicative of something.

They moved the ball consistently in part of the first half and it's funny that you want to downplay interceptions.

The 49ers had a garbage time touchdown, never threatened the Saints after their second touchdown, had three turnovers, and had their quarterback running for his life. If that's not what you call getting destroyed then good for you but we won by two touchdowns so it really doesn't matter to me what you want to call it.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Re: 49ers @ Saints

First off, Im not downplaying INT's but having your defense give up constant yardage but getting turnovers in the end zone doesnt suddenly mean you dominated us or destroyed us as you put it. ****, it was 21-9 with 10:00 minutes left in the 3rd quarter but apparently we were never in a position to challenge the mighty Saints. Then you point out that they never challenged them after their second TD, well that was with 11:23 left in the game and made it 28-9 at the time, obviously thats a big mountain to climb so thats why. I know that you dont want to give the Niners any semblance of credit, we scored a TD in garbage time, we were dominated, the Saints never were in trouble, whatever, say what you want. The Saints have the better team and should have won today, we are still on the path back to being respectable and its a long road, 2-2 isnt bad for a team that has a new QB, a new OC and is implementing a completely new system on offense.

Errr...

Anyhow.

That win was just what we needed. Hopefully we contain AD next Monday and continue.

Re: 49ers @ Saints

Man, Im glad I picked up Lance Moore and started him this week, what a game he had today. Is there any chance he continues to start even when Colston comes back or is the inconsistent Devery Henderson guaranteed to start over Moore no matter what he does? Im trying to gauge how much of a shot he has of becoming a consistent player for that team once the injured begin to return.

Re: 49ers @ Saints

Last year he started off great and then faded so no one is really going to know how consistent he'll be.

My bet is Patten will bump Moore when healthy... by the time Colston comes back it'll be Colston and Meachem with Patten/Moore/Henderson taking turns as the #3 and #4 (in that order).
