I'm not saying that I'd shell out huge money for Cassel, but I think your expectations for what his performance level should be are a bit much. He's not Tom Brady, and it's unfair to expect him to be Tom Brady; this is his first season in the league where he's seen any meaningful playing time. Besides, it's not every day that a team runs the table.

To the original post: I imagine some team that is desperate for quarterback help, but yet doesn't want to draft someone, will cash in their poker chips for Cassel. Whether that gamble will pay off remains to be seen, but I think Cassel is at least capable.
check his post history. it's just trolling

Wow, man, wow. Please take off the wedding band that you are pretending Brady gave you and take a look at the Patriots so far.

Other than the front three and Mayo, the defense cannot tackle. The secondary is too inept to cover someone and then can't tackle the receiver once they make the catch. Vrabel, Bruschi, and whichever guy you want to talk about as Thomas' replacement (Guyton or Woods) can't cover tight-ends and haven't really been able to get consistent pressure on the opposing QBs as the Patriots usually can. The defense can't get off the field on third downs and can't force turnovers.

I know this is your thing - you like to troll about bashing the Patriots and praising Brady - but let me lay out a couple of stats for you.

In 2007 the Pats defense was:

-4th in overall YPG allowed (288.3)
-6th in passing yards allowed (191)
-10th in rushing yards allowed (98.2)
-4th in PPG (17.1)
-2nd in sacks (47)
-Had 31 takeaways (19 INTs, 12 fumble recoveries)
-Opponents were 63 of 187 on 3rd downs (34%)

In 2008, the Pats defense is:

-12th in YPG (308.4)
-13th in passing YPG (204.4)
-14th in rushing YPG (104)
-10th in PPG (19.4)
-18th in sacks (19 through 10 games)
-Have 15 takeaways through 10 games
-Opponents are 53 of 122 on 3rd downs (43%)

Yeah. The four losses are all because Matt Cassel is a "bad QB."
