That's because if they played the games at night it'd be after midnight UK time my friend.

I admit i'm a bit biased but c'mon! A game in Mexico between the Niners and Cards gets the primetime treatment but a game in a potential future NFL market gets the "regular" treatment is a bit of a slap in the face at least to me.

So basically the Matt Stover vs. Shaun Suisham field goal contest is at night now? Okay.

That's about right. Don't leave out the punters, though.

This is more of a region rivalry if anything.

BTW Wwharton I didn't really think of the whole geographical rivalry aspect. I'm sure it'll be a great game for fans in the beltway. It's just not too appealing to me.
It should be appealing to you. Currently Baltimore holds the last Wild card spot. Honestly there is so much more draw to this game than Miami/Buffalo it's not even funny. I hear you making a case, but in less of an attacking way, Cebby is right. Ravens stadium is going to be packed with fans of both teams. It's going to be insanely loud and there'll probably be fights all over the place. I'm not being a homer when I say this IS the game of the week.

As I said before the Ravens average 30.6 points the last 5 games (btw, they had 27 points the game before that). You guys show how much you really pay attention to THIS year's NFL sometimes.

NBC made a decision to pick the biggest draw. They made the right decision picking a rivalry game with major playoff implications than picking a game because it's in Canada. Saying NBC dropped the ball is a statement made only because you're a Bills fan/Canadian.
Meh, Miami / Buf is a historical (DIVISION!) rivalry that is coming back into its own since both teams are playing competitively. DC / Baltimore is a regional rivalry that is a cross-conference game that will be like watching paint dry.

I'd agree that Washington is a big name team, but Baltimore? C'mon :0 Miami and Buffalo have been around since the 60's.

Me personally would've had Panthers-Packers as the Sunday Night game, but after last night I'm glad they didn't.

But other than folks in this 30+ mile radius, I could see why this game doesn't appeal to folks outside of here.

I mean we(folks in the MD/DC area)all know the REAL reason WHY this is a rivalry between these two(wwharton it has NOTHING to do with football either )But I do know that there were BETTER choices than these two, imo.

And they play twice a year, and boths teams will be lucky to be in playoff contention. On the other hand, Ravens /Redskins is an enormous rivalry and both teams never play each other. The two teams have been absolutely itching to play each other, and this is literally years in the making. Oh yeah, this game will be huge with regard to their respected presence in the playoffs. I know their are an inordinate amount of Bills fans in the world, and their are essentially no Ravens fans, and if you would like to watch the last two teams in a division square off, kudos to you. But, I speak without New York blinders on when I say I am not seeing how the Bills/Dolphins game is worthy of Sunday night football.
