Re: This is how to fix the Cleveland Browns.

I hate the steelers but man do I admire them.

We need stability, enough 4 year plans and rebuilding year after year.

I am glad Cowher didnt come to Cleveland. We dont want Cowher , we want the NEXT Cowher. Get a true GM, player manager, and not a glorified scout (read: Savage).

Get players that fit the system. Our LBs are horrible and we are running a 3-4 and a passive 3-4 at that. Who does not blitz and rushes only the 3 down lineman in a 3-4? The Browns.

Draft defense heavy. This is the AFC North and Defense prevails in this division. Get that USC LB , get a real DE , just get a freaking stud on D that is a difference maker.

Get rid of the malcontents. If you dont want to be here or cause strife in the locker room, peace the eff out .

Inject a winning attitude and some discipline. Bust some balls once in awhile. Sure RAC was a 'nice' guy and the players loved him, but it really didnt produce many results, did it.

Everyone wants to know why the Steelers are always so good.

There are a few reasons but the biggest is organizational stabilty. The Steelers hire people, then get out of the way.

They dont panic after a bad year or two. They stick to their plan and have a model that they follow.

They build their teams around defense, they have a strong identity that the fans and players take great pride in.

They DO NOT allow internal strife, ever. If you disrupt the locker room you are gone.

The Browns need to change their culture from the top down, and give it time.

I agree with that 100% The Steelers organization is one of the best run in all of sports.

a. The old Browns are gone. They left 14 years ago. Quit trying to be the old Browns.

b. New uniforms. Something more modern. Get fans excited for a completely new look. Maybe even change some colors. There is just something about a new look that boosts teams. (See Rays)
I can agree with a lot of your points but screw this.

DO NOT CHANGE THE UNIFORMS/HELMET!

I hear you man. Maybe not a huge change, but more of an updated look.

I think the Colors/Uniforms would be a huge dividing factor for Browns fans.

It would actually make some of their apparel 'wearable', which would be a plus. I don't own any orange Browns gear because it looks like I am getting ready to go hunting.

Maybe keep the BROWN and get rid of the Huntin' Orange? But by doing that you end up changing everything....

You open an interesting conversation.

I am thinking an updated look. Similar to the Broncos change from the old uni's to the ones they have now.

It would all depend, I see what you're saying but its hard to change much without dramatically altering the look of the team.

I really love the old school look, embraces the tradition and history of the team. Granted we haven't had anything good happen of late so I can see why some want change.

Re: This is how to fix the Cleveland Browns.

Changing one of the most classic uniforms in NFL history isn't going to do anything except piss off the fans. Remember the brown pants?

Just get some real football players, coaches, and a GM who knows what he is doing, and it'll be fine.
