Hope he does well would like to see B. Edwards in the playoffs maybe he can mesh with the young guy better.

Why do I have a feeling the Browns will be doing this all over again in 4 years (or maybe less)? Seems like Kokinis will be another Savage and Mangini will be another Belichick (Browns version, not Patriots version).

Ok, I'm really not. I can't. I want to, but my love for them goes past some of the stupid decisions they make.

I really think this is the right move given the options the Browns have. I like Mangini for a number of reasons. The Browns have been one of the most, if not the most undisciplined team in the NFL. Mangini is the type of coach who won't tolerate that. That is just what the Browns need IMO. If he isn't afraid to stand up to Bret Favre, then he should be ok with the Browns players.

Rob Ryan will be good for the Browns. I never thought he'd cut the cord with Al Davis, that was holding him back.

If we were in the AFC West I would be more confident. Since the Browns are in the AFC North I am thinking we will be lucky to be 8-8 in 2009 or 2010.

I didn't watch enough Jets games to see how smart/dumb Mangini is. I am just glad we have someone with prior Head Coach experience.

I am interested to hear what he says about Brady Quinn being the starter. Not trying to start a war of words with DA fans, just thinking that a trade needs to happen with one of those QBs to open some cap room.

You obviously haven't watched a Browns game over the last 4 years.

I agree I don't get how a guy goes from choking on one team to being a head coach on another...Apparently the Browns haven't watched the Jets because part of what got Mangini fired was his decision making and gameplanning...He is a marginal at best X's and O's guy and his disciplinarian schtick wore off with the team during the latter part of this season...It just amazes me how guys just go from job to job in this league even with questionable tenures ...
