I just can't picture him rolling out of the tunnel, throwing snow in the air like LBJ. Wait....yes I can.

EDIT- official, he's signed. On the news ticker. 5 years, $17m ($7.2 mil guaranteed). Reported by Schefter.

5 year deal for a 35 year old safety? Blows my mind. Then again, there are some clauses and the like in there that really make this less then a 5 year deal. So it probably ends up being a pretty good move.

Personally, and this is just my opinion, I think Dawkins will decline steadily over the next 2-3 years. It's very similar to the John Lynch signing. He made Pro Bowl's, but eventually he was phased out. So that's why I wouldn't be too up in arms if I were an Eagle fan.

For B-Dawk, this is a good move. 5 year contract? You win!

I've compared Dawkins to Lynch a few times now. Does anyone actually think we'll see this contract to Year 4 or Year 5? Its essentially a 2 year deal for around 9 million.. I'm not complaining about getting a vocal leader that could have an impact.

As for being a fan of a player that was the heart and soul of a defense, that's something that will sting for a long, long time. Denver still misses Al Wilson and Steve Atwater.

Tell me about. Unless Ed Reed, or Polamalu is comin to the Birds I don't see who they think is gonna fill his shoes. Demps? I don't think so. Then on top of that they keep throwin Stacy Andrews in our face like thats suppose to make us feel better? Get real.

Damn, just heard on NFL Network all the people that called in upset about this. I wonder what the general consensus is around there?

Re: Brian Dawkins to Broncos

I didn't think I could feel any worse about this whole thing.

Then I listened to B-Dawk's phone interview with Derrick Gunn.

After listening to this, I believe that the Eagles low balled him. Dawk doesnt seem like the type of player to leave over 1 or 2 million dollars and you can tell he wanted to stay with the Eagles. Like someone said earlier, this is actually a 2, yr 9 mil deal so I'm suprised the Eagles couldnt match that.\
