I'm not a fan of this. While I may come to like it once I see it. At this moment. Do not want.

A couple of thousand New Yorkers will stumble drunkenly into the building for a 7:30 start....The draft is like the Jet's 9th home game to their fans

It is better than before when the 1st round of the draft was competing against 4 NBA games on Saturdays.
Before, the Draft would start at 12pm so by the time the Draft was starting to wind down or when the 1st 2 rounds were done, it really wouldn't interfere with the 4 games or whatever the number that was scheduled. At worst, you'd probably miss like a half of the first game on TV. At least I remember it being that way in 07 and last year I believe...

I never watch the NBA draft. Now I know why. It is on a Thursday.

In 2007, Columbus, Georgia television stations decided to skip NBA playoff coverage and broadcast some sort of bizarre housing auction.

It was turrible Ernie.

Re: NFL Draft moving to prime time (Thursday night)

So with the 7:30 EST start on Thursday and a 6:30 EST start on Friday, I guess the West coast people are pretty much guarenteed to miss the start of the draft because of work. It would be 2:30pm/1:30pm in Hawaii. LOL. Guess no viewers from Hawaii for the draft. Can someone explain to me how this is a good idea?

Im not a fan I always loved the anticipation of waking up on Sat AM and seeing a big trade or just getting ready for draft day.

Re: NFL Draft moving to prime time (Thursday night)

Wow, this is a horrible idea. The NFL continues to demonstrate their ever-increasing greed.

I'm sorry, but the NFL Draft is not a prime-time event. It's nice to flip to it on Saturday, relax, and watch a few rounds, maybe have some people over, whatever. But there's better things to watch on a weeknight. I'll just get the draft info online after the fact.

Between NFL Network, exclusivity crap, the possibility of an uncapped year, expanding the regular season, and this, Goodell is really getting greedy and I think this could all come back and bite the league in the ***. It's a shame, because the NFL is my favorite sport by far, but Goodell is really testing my patience.
