Re: Jim Johnson Passes Away

The best Defensive Coordinator of this era IMHO. He lead the Eagles defense with a bang every time those fingers dug into the dirt. He was the true defensive leader of this team and will never be replaced. He took over this defense 10 years ago: 160 games minimum; in which he was able to culminate rankings of second in tackles for losses, forced fumbles, sacks, red zone TD efficiency & 3rd down efficiency since 2000. All while allowing an average of just less than 18 points per game (144 games people!).

He's a coach who was passionate and strong and was able to pass this onto every player he taught.

R.I.P. J. J...You'll surely be missed by every Eagles Fan

Re: Jim Johnson Passes Away

I swear everytime I watched his defenses in action, I would be just amazed at his blitzes like a QB would in the game because you were always trying to guess where he was bringing the heat from. He would bring the heat from anywhere and you wouldn't know where it was coming from until the absolute last minute. It was just blitz, blitz, blitz and it would work almost everytime.

Good lord, Jim Johnson was one of my favorite defensive coordinators and when I first heard the news, I knew that things would never be the same. As much as I hate the Eagles, I loved the way Jim Johnson ran his defense. It always made for an interesting game and may he truly rest in peace as one of the best defensive coordinators to ever coach in the NFL.

RIP Mr. Jim Johnson.

You've set the bar unimaginably high for your successor.

You will be missed.

Eagles will be playing w/ a heavy heart this year.

R.I.P J.J, even though you were an eagle it's going to be sad not seeing you stroll the sidelines anymore.

Re: Jim Johnson Passes Away

If you beat him once, it would be twice as hard to beat him again.

He gave the blueprint to beating the Pats in their 16-0 season.

RIP
