Baugh, Graham, Unitas. Take your pick.

No QB who has played their entire career after the 1978 rules changes can be considered the best.

Okay, if you say so. However, that's just your opinion.

I don't see why or how but to each his own.

The rules are not fair. Defenders can't even use reasonable contact to defend passes. Intentional grounding (out of bounds and at a receiver's feet) is legal. QBs cannot be hit if they "give up" by sliding, or if the defender is knocked to the ground (Brady Rule).

The rules are stupid and unfair. As long as offensive players are allowed to run free and unopposed down field, the game will be a pass happy shadow of it's former self.

But I've said all this before, ad-nausium, on this board. But it is my position that today's game has been robbed of it's grit, and that today's QBs are talentless hacks who should be playing golf or driving NASCAR: they are not real athletes. They do not belong on the same field as Troy Polamalu, Ray Lewis, Dwight Freeney, or almost any other finely tuned athlete that plays defense in the NFL.

Some would say the rules from Pre-1978 weren't made with today's athlete in mind. When you have 270 lbs of muscle running a 4.5 40-yard dash colliding with another person it simply isn't good for everyone involved.

Ask Mike Webster and others how those rules worked out for them....oh wait, you can't.

Have you ever watched a football game? What you described IS FOOTBALL. In a nutshell.

If guys don't want to get hit, they should stick to baseball.

And then after their careers are over, when they cannot remember who they are or they cannot walk or cannot breathe without help, it's still the same thing, that it is football, and they weren't tough enough?

Give me a break. I have no problems with protecting players from serious injury and I cannot see why you have a problem with it.

You know what the great thing about the human race is?

We evolve and adapt. Well, most of us do.
