Re: Fred Taylor vs Edge James ..

Neither of them are locks for the HOF. Both may get in, 1 may get in, or neither may get in. Who knows? But I'll say, I got the chance to watch both of them plenty of times since I'm a Colts fan and Freddy played for the Jags...they're both very good, but I'd have to give the edge to Edge in this one(no pun intended). lol. He was a great back, back in the day. Had multiple 1500+ yard seasons. He could block well, catch well, and run well. He's a complete back.

I still think the majority of people sleep on him and still view him as a player who gets hurt all the time.

I think EJ is a complete back. HOF'er??? That I'm not so sure of.

I think Fred Taylor has one of the best skill sets as a running back. his balance of speed, power, and agility is really amazing! I am a big Freddy T fan but dont think he is gonna make the Hall. Wish he could have stayed healthy during his career. I still remember when Jim Brown named him as one of the best backs a little while ago. Pretty good stuff since he wasn't getting much attention at the time!

Re: Fred Taylor vs Edge James ..

I'd take taylor for his rushing and james for his receiving and maybe blocking. If I had to pick one I'd go with taylor

Edge is a pretty bad rusher and has been for most of his career. If he didn't have defenses keying up to stop the pass he'd have done nothing in indy just like how he's done nothing since then.

I do not think edge is Hof worthy but I am sure he'll get in since the voters are RB lovers. Thing is if he gets in so should ricky waters and a few other similar guys.

Didn't Edge have 1,200+ yards his first two seasons in Zona?

The Hall of Fame is reserved for the All-Time Greatest players. It's not just a Hall of Good Players.

Fred Taylor made the Pro Bowl once in his entire career. He's a good player, but greatness is definitely not in him. Not by a longshot. It's hard to argue you belong with the Best RBs in NFL history, when you were never even the best RB in any single year you've played in the league.

Believe me, he will never even be under consideration for the HoF. Not unless they seriously lower the bar for Canton, and start admitting like 20 players into the HoF every year.

Edgerrin James will likely be in the balloting. But I doubt he'll actually get in. The NFL Hall-of-Fame is a very selective process.

Re: Fred Taylor vs Edge James ..

edge was only good was because the colts had a a probowl offensive line. They had saturday tarick glen and ryan diem. Barry sanders gets crap on the lions and still runs for 100+ touchdowns. Edge was good aslong as there was a all star offensive line protecting him. You were better giving sanders nobody on the O-line than what he had. hell i could play as good of a right tackle as who ever played for the lions in the 90's. Edge is good but only in a well protected system that is why he sucked on the cards
