Re: Why is KGB still a free agent?

I was hoping the Colts would sign Brooks, but to no surprise we didn't. Polian is wierd like that. Somehow, he thinks letting rookies/young players develop into good players is better than getting a guy that can make an immediate impact and who is better than the current players you have. I don't understand it. I can certainly understand it if we were a 5 win team building for the future, but that's not the case....

Somehow though, it usually works out in the end. Guys like Brackett, Saturday, Hayden, Mathis, Bethea, weren't much coming out of College, but they developed into good players and are key players on our team. Still though, I don't think signing 1 or 2 big free agents here and there will hurt....

the only thing i can think of is money. no one wants to pay a lot for an old player to learn a new system and only play for a year.

They're not panicing is all. I'm sure if Brook's demands were reasonable he'd be somewhwere by now...As is, he's not worth stunting the growth of some younger talent to "hope" he could fill in somewhere.

Pisa T. will be back and until then the guys who had the postion last year got it covered. MLB is where the hit was and Brooks ain't the answer there.

Going with a old guy or developing a younger player.
