How About Flacco and Ryan?

I'm surprised there isn't much discussion. After two games-

Ryan- 449 yards, 5 tds, 1 int. 108 qb rating.

Flacco- 497 yards, 5 tds, 2 ints. 98 qb rating.

Safe to say they are avoiding the sophmore slump thus far. Both look like top 10 qbs after 2 games.

Re: How About Flacco and Ryan?

I've been very impressed with Flacco

Last year I got annoyed with the hype since he was about the definition of game manager and no where close to deserving of the praise he got, but he's been great so far this year.

Re: How About Flacco and Ryan?

Ryan is fortunate to have a tight end like Gonzalez, it will make him a lot better. He still has the occasional accuracy hiccup, but he will be great.

Flacco is really surprising me, he has done excellent so far.

Re: How About Flacco and Ryan?

I'm not surprised at all by Flacco's progress. He was such an insanely raw prospect coming out of college that it was really a testament to his talent that he was able to be a productive game manager by midseason of his rookie year, something that even for a refined pro style passer is challenging. Ryan was a much more pro-ready prospect, so his success didn't wow me like Flacco's. When both of their careers are over, I expect Flacco to be as good if not better than Ryan.

I loathe the fact that Matt Ryan plays in the NFC South.

Re: How About Flacco and Ryan?

My bad for all the bumps LOL.

Was trying to find a thread that was created on here a while ago about saying Matt Ryan is the next Tom Brady but couldn't find it BUT while searching for it(and also just realizing these two QBs just went against each other)I think it's safe to say that both of these dudes have made significant strides from their first year to now.

Now the question is, as of right now who would you take? Flacco or Ryan?

Re: How About Flacco and Ryan?

Matt Ryan is better in the pocket.

Joe Flacco is better on the move. (only slightly though)

Matt Ryan is a more accurate passer than Joe is (especially after tonight)

I will go with Matt Ryan, but I am a Falcon homer

Re: How About Flacco and Ryan?

What a bump!

I have to say i'd take Ryan over Flacco. I think Ryan isn't nearly as good out of the pocket when you look at pure athletics but he's got intangibles and has a knack for getting out of trouble. I think he's more accurate than Flacco and makes better reads.

They're both top flight QBs and you can't go wrong with either.
