I don't see him going in the first at all. Even if he has a great combine, there won't be six QBs drafted in the first round.

Agreed. Plus, for the first time in a LONG time in the NFL, the QB position is rather stable. Think of alot of the marquee names out there: Brady, Petyon, Favre, Brees, Eli, Rivers, Palmer, Cutler, Orton, Big Ben, McNabb (Kolb is the successor) and guys who are holding down starting jobs like Romo, Hasselback, Rogers, Garrard, etc . There's also proven younger guys Flacco, Ryan and new guys like Sanchez, Freeman, Stafford. There really aren't a lot of opportunites to start in the league.

I say 2nd or 3rd round.

For Colt, it's all about the perfect situation, kind of like, well, all young QBs.

Re: Where would Colt McCoy fit in the NFL??

Browns, Raiders, Redskins, Panthers and Rams are the onyl teams I really see taking a QB in the first.

Titans maybe, but Adams loves Vince so who knows when that will end.

Seahawks need to draft a QB, they might too with there being quite a few good prospects and two first round picks.

49ers will draft one, but not until the fourth round.

Vikings will grab one in the later rounds.

Dalls might too.

Jax will snag one early day two.

Buffalo should grab one, but who knows.
--------------------------------------------------------
So that leaves Browns, Raiders, Redskins, Panthers and Rams to draft one early.

Rams - Bradford
Browns - Snead
Raiders - Locker
Redskins - Pike
Panthers - Tebow

McCoy can maybe possibly go to Seattle in the first, but other than that he might slip to round three.

lol. I stopped reading there. Colt is 6'2"-3" which is your average NFL QB.

Re: Where would Colt McCoy fit in the NFL??

I'm sure McCoy has the talent to be at least a decent NFL QB however I was having a discussion with a guy from another forum. (We were all discussing the Titans) He brought up an interesting and valid point about the culture of Texas under Mack Brown. Evidently the players on the football team get coddled and treated like royalty having people basically do everything for them and once they're thrown into the real world things go haywire for them. It's why Ricky Williams took so long to adjust to the life of a pro athlete (okay and the weed thing plays a part of it too) and why Vince Young is a basket case of immaturity. If McCoy has a solid head on his shoulders then all it takes is his talent and work ethic to be a serviceable QB in this league.

The thing is, NFL people are going to be VERY wary of picking up big name Texas players unless the player is out of this world good or the culture changes down there.
