It's black and white to me. If a team deserves to go, they win the games they have on their schedule regardless of difficulty...can't change the schedule afterall. Look at the Steelers last year. Toughest schedule in the NFL and they won the Super Bowl. They didn't complain that they had the toughest schedule, they just went out and took care of business. I guess I'm the type that doesn't like to look for excuses for failure. It's what has made me such a success in life/business while others worry about money and blame the economy and wanting handouts from the Government. OK, so I've gone slightly off topic...

If games were weighted, you might have a valid point, but they aren't...anything other than that thought process is playing the semantics game.

The Steelers have lost to some very mediocre teams over the years and then went onto win the Super Bowl. That's just the way it is....
So using your logic, teams that are identical in record are equally as good, as how good a team is can only be inferred based upon their record. Anything less is the semantics game? Wow. I don't know about you, but if team A and B have the same record, and team A's loses are all very close to playoff teams while team B's loses are not as close and to weaker teams (including a dud), team A is more deserving.

Re: Raiders @ Steelers

TD Steelers to take the lead.

1:56 on the clock is WAY too much time to leave the Raiders offense... That sounds funny to say, but it's true. The Steelers D can't stop anyone in the 4th quarter.

If the Raiders come back and score I'm going to hate jamarcus russell a lot more.

I think the problem is your post read as if the Steelers wouldn't deserve to be there even if they did find a way into the playoffs with 9 or 10 wins. If the Ravens don't make the playoffs, it's not like they got robbed or anything... they don't make it, they don't deserve it. But if they do, they definitely deserve it since they have (and would have to continue) beaten every team they're "supposed to" while being in the thick of things all the way to the end against the other playoff caliber teams. Thinking black and white, any team in the playoffs deserves to be there (see ARI last year) but if we're going to say a team doesn't, that may be true for the one that lost to KC and OAK (if that happens)... not so much the one that lost to IND, MIN, NE and CIN.
