It's not all you can ask for. You could ask for a Super Bowl win.

Yea...because that's an easily attainable goal. You'll just be chasing tails if you fire a coach of Reid's ilk for someone who hasn't proved he can win.

The only coaches I'd fire Reid for, in no particular order:

Cowher
Dungy
Shanahan

were you saying this before 2006 about Dungy?

as if the Eagles will find someone better...Andy Reid is a great coach. Eagles are always solid in all facets and it's because they have the same system year after year. Look at the Bucs. I bet they regret firing Gruden now...And I don't wanna hear how they were rebuilding, because if they were they wouldn't have signed Derrick Ward or Byron Leftwich.

exactly...

you fire a coach to hire someone better...

you don't just fire a guy for the sake of firing and assume a superbowl will drop in your lap.

not every team will be so lucky as to get Rex Grossman as an opponent in the Super Bowl.

Reid's advantage is there's no real shadow he has to coach in. No one's won a Super Bowl before, so he's pretty much the best coach they've ever had. LOL

Other than Vermeil and Reid, it's hard to name Eagles coaches. Ryan, Rhodes, Kotite......

True, from the Phillies to the Flyers....

They(not a Eagles fan) need to appreciate McNabb and Andy instead of always throwing the two under the bus.....

And both Cowher and Dungy were thought to be great coaches who just hadn't won the big one (where Reid sits now) before they won and pretty much retired. Shanahan was similar but he didn't retire and I don't think the whispers about not winning the big one circled around him for as long as the other two.

As you mentioned, all you can hope for is a coach that can bring the team together and put them in position to do well in the playoffs... and then see what happens. I never understand why people think of the NFL like golf. You're playing against a bunch of other teams who are trying to win a SB too. The wrap against Marty was stupid and that was for not winning playoff games at all. Reid has consistently gotten his team to the conference championship game.
