Re: Sins of a Father: Rae Carruth

I hope Rae Curruth is being brutally beaten, raped, and intimidated on a daily basis. That child's grandmother is far stronger a person than I could ever be. I'd kill Curruth on the day of his release if he'd done that to a member of my family.

And I don't have any sympathy for that gunman either. Curruth didn't "make him" do anything. He made his own choice. And when he speaks of forgiveness he does it referring to himself so that he can "get into paradise".....not out of guilt or sorrow for what he did to that family.

She is right though. When she said that is the beauty of having CP. He will not be able to understand why his dad did that. He will just love people. I had two cousin with CP, they died at age 18 and 16. But they love unconditionally. Just a sad story that should have never happened!

I see you wouldn't be one to hold a grudge.

As it is, what would be the point for the woman to still be upset at him? She has no legal way of punishing him beyond of what the justice system instituted and regardless of her actions toward him now or in the future, the child would still be dead. I don't know if I could be as gracious and merciful enough to forgive someone who killed my relative but harboring negative feelings would never let me get past the situation.

I view this in that she's gotten past the denial stage and to a realization that Rae needs help, whether its mental or more probable in this case - spiritual, that he get to a point of conviction and finally repentance of his wretched actions.

Kudos to the lady - it's sad there aren't more classy individulals within society.
