Post Chicago Bears hire Mike Martz as offensive coordinator

As I mentioned in the Chicago Bears thread, the ball club has hired Mike Martz as offensive coordinator.

Now if only the Bears can get some semblance of an offensive line they will be set on that side of the ball for next season.

Watch your six, Cutler. if Martz gets a half decent backup in there he'll run you out of town at the first sign of adversity like he did Warner.

Actually, Mike Martz loved Jay Cutler coming out of the draft back when he was offensive coordinator of the Lions back in '06. Only Matt Millen and Rod Marinelli prevented Cutler from being a Lions quarterback at this very moment.

At any rate... when I knew about this info back in late November when this was only a rumor, I mentioned in the Bears team thread that this could be a good fit for a few reasons.

Eh, best case scenario I assume. Nobody wanted the job as they knew they might be out next year anyway.

Good chance for Martz though to show he can still call plays.

RIP Jay Cutler's career. You had a good run, kid. I thought you played with moxie this year, but it just ain't in the cards.

He liked Kurt for a while too.

I know the guy can run an offense, but I just don't like him. There was a lot wrong with how he conducted himself in St. Louis and the way he turned on Warner and railroaded his career was disgraceful.
