Re: LaDainian Tomlinson's Future

If he is done in SD, I hope he leaves the game ala Barry Sanders. I didn't want to Emmitt Smith play for any team but the Cowboys, I don't want to see LT in any other uniform. That's just me. Very rare 'wish' in the modern era of professional sports I know.

Anyway, that WON'T happen, so it will be interesting to see how it pans out. Niners? Titans?

Re: LaDainian Tomlinson's Future

I don't get the Titans rumors. He isn't going to go to a team that wasn't a Super Bowl contender this year. New England was in the Playoffs, LT could probably start there, it's a perfect fit.

Also, why would Tennessee want LT taking touches from Chris Johnson?

As opposed to me sprouting on, here is a great article that highlights the concern the Titans will perhaps have for CJ.

Link here: link here

Running backs passing 340 carries show a decline the season after, in the majority of cases, the slide is dramatic. Some may argue the back is never the same. Time will tell. CJ is the best in the game and one special player. LT/CJ as a one-two punch - win/win for the Titans.

Re: LaDainian Tomlinson's Future

Why do people think he would go to NE? Did folks already forget about the 06 Playoff Incident when he basically called out the entire organization?

Re: LaDainian Tomlinson's Future

Players tend to feel disconnected when their role shrinks as a result or having lost some steps. That's all I see here, because LT just sounds like an upset old-timer and it does remind me of Emmitt's comments, although Emmitt was still producing more in Dallas than LT is at this point.

They may not have been decidedly better than him last year but really they were on the same level. None of the 3 were greatly productive and given LTs downward trend and the fact that both of them are still pretty young it is perfectly reasonable to assume they will be better than LT next year.

Personally, it's just a pipe dream as a Pats fan. I'd love to see him in a New England uniform.

I was very surprised to see other people actually think he may end up here. I don't really know how many Pats fans would react - I know quite a few of them who are not the kindest to LT whenever he gets brought up in a discussion.
