Re: Cowboys cut LT Adams, S Hamlin

He may not have been an elite tackle anymore but he was/is definitely better than what they have at the position right now.

And I wouldn't even think the money he was making would be an issue for Jerruh considering that there's no salary cap right now. Unless Jerruh knows something we don't know yet...

As for Hamlin, last time I seen him he was still at Texas Stadium looking for his facemask that LeRon McClain ripped off from him on that 70 yard TD run.

Hamlin was a stiff in Seattle, not sure why people thought he'd ever be the answer in Dallas.
Hamlin had one good season for us, which was the year before he signed his extension. Keyword in that is good, not great, as he was significantly better than Roy Williams. That said, he's not a great safety and wasn't worth the money we were paying him.

The release of Adams may be premature, but his level of play was indeed slipping and the move strikes me as a vote of confidence by the front office in Doug Free to produce. I don't know if he can do it for sixteen games, but he did play fairly well in the few games he was in for us. I'd still like to see us draft offensive line in the first round should a good one be available; namely, Mike Iupati of Idaho strikes me as the prototypical mauler Cowboys' lineman.

I like the move to be honest. Flozell cost us plenty of goaline drives by commiting penalties left and right. Doug Free will do just fine on the left side. Hopefully, Earl Thomas will fall to us in the draft. We need a hard-hitting safety that can cover somebody. ET can do that.

EDIT: Damn. I didn't know his stock has risen like that! He used to be projected late teens/early twenties. Now he's up to #7. I'd settle for Taylor Mays though.

I see that happening too. It will sicken me to see Flozell Hotel in a Deadskins uniform.

So do the Skins pick up Plax too and make it a division sweep?
