90% of what gets said before the NFL draft are lies and smoke screens. Don't believe anything a team says before a draft.

If Berry is there when the Browns pick and the Browns take Clausen, I'm going to throw myself off a building.
The Browns need a long term answer at QB. It certainly isn't Delhomme or Seneca Wallace. Let's not forget that Holmgren is an offensive guy that was blessed with Favre in GB. He also had Detmer and Brunell there. He covets good QBs. When he went to Seattle they traded a first rounder to get Hasselbeck. He knows how important a QB is and he will jump at the opportunity to draft a good one IF he likes him. If Holmgren likes Clausen he's drafting him at #7, even if Berry is there imo.

Holmgren said he wished he liked Clausen more.

There are also many, many reports that say that Holmgren prefers Colt McCoy.

McCoy may be availabe at the top of round two although the Brownies might have to move up to get him. I still don't believe anything people say before the draft. Jimmy Johnson said everyone is just a bunch of liars and they will use guys like Chris Mortenson to spread their lies. It's all a part of the game.

If the Seahawks take Clausen I would go insane. I've said it multiple times before that I hate every single QB in the draft this year. Plus it makes the Whitehurst trade look even more ridiculous if we take a QB. We have more pressing needs at this point at ... well, everywhere else. O-line, d-line, safety, receiver, running back. We need everything else before we even think about a QB. My ideal situation: two offensive linemen with the first two picks. That would be wonderful.

No way it happens.

I actually think if a great OL or DL isn't available, they should trade down and get some more picks, either this year or next. Maybe a team like Buffalo who might want to move up to grab him, gives us their #9 and a 2nd rounder next year. I'd take that.

does anyone agree?

Any owner thinking of drafting a QB that is named after a pickle is totally foolish.

They start tipping their hand in the week before the draft so that they can trade and line up their pick with their value board.

Personally, I'd be surprised if McCoy were rated that high because from what I've read I don't have a perception of him as a guy that can hit the honey-hole. But then again, QBs are always way over-drafted (Clausen and Bradford probably shouldn't be taken in the top 10) so I guess I could see it.

Claussen pickles are fantastic! Maybe there is a correlation to greatness? But Jimmy only has one "s" so he might only be half as good.
