Al Davis, the man, the myth, the sea monster.

EDIT: On second thought, the crypt keeper may be more fitting.

I just noticed how is glass has the Raiders logo. But no I wouldn't pay him that much. Probably around 10 million.

That Al Davis pic should be banned from OS. Gives me the creeps everytime. I mean look at him.. I can't believe that's actually someone who's alive.

The difference here is the whole Jets defensive philosophy is based around Revis covering and shutting down the other teams best Wide out.

Is he worth 20 million to another team, no. Is he worth 20 mil to the Jets and Rex Ryan's defense? Yes.

Now with that said Revis' people have stated they did not ask for 20 million. Either way if I were him I would not settle for a penny less than 15 mil a year.

His own coach was calling him the MVP of the league and the best cover corner he has seen play the game.

20 million is completely unreasonable. That's more than 3 million more than any player of the league.

Jets send Revis' agent contract proposal »
BY MANISH MEHTA
Quote:
The Jets have made an aggressive move to restructure Darrelle Revis' contract by sending the All-world cornerback a new proposal. The team sent Revis' agent a proposal last week, he said.

"If the numbers are right and everything looks good, I'll sign on the dotted line," Revis said today. "If not, if we have negotiate more, that's something we have to do."

Revis is entering the fourth year of his six-year rookie contract. He's scheduled to earn $1 million in 2010.

Revis squashed rumors that he's seeking $20 million per season.

"I don't know where the $20 million came from," Revis said. "I never told you guys that. I'm sure it's not going to be up in that area. That's insane. That's be great. Who wouldn't want $20 million. That's a high price. We're working it out right now. I just want to make it as positive as I can. I don't want it to get messy. And just try to do it the right way."

Revis also admitted that he didn't want to have the perception of being a greedy athlete.

"I don't want to be looked at as that person," Revis said. "I don't know who said it. It's just false information. I'm not that type of guy to be saying stuff like that. It's insane with those types of numbers."

"As long as I know the truth, we'll move forward. …I think (the Jets) got my best interest (in mind). I'm just waiting."
