They had to add gang tackles this year because Sega had it last year.

Remember kiddies competition = good

just like sega had to make their franchise better cause madden had it last year. of course they will try to compete. thats the best thing to come out of all of this.

Re: what astronomical changes has 2k3 made?

-from the impressions given it seems 2k3 gets the nod for better running game inside and out. Getting Skinny and bouncing of lineman instead of running in place behind them
-2k3 allows you to assign a defender to cover any receiver exclusively
-'on the fly audibles' that can be changed without accessing the pause menu
-'pivot camera' for passing and/or running
-impressions given are of a better presentation due to the ESPN license.
-Sh!tload of animations

That's a few without talking about the Franchise Mode.

Sh!t... just the fact that they changed the players look every year for the past 4 years shows their willingness to change. Regardless of what you think of them, they could be like EA and just leave the players alone. This is something Madden hasn't done in how many years? Since '99, because 2000 is just better looking models of the old ones.

thejake, great point man. never really thought of that. still, there are some things i would like to see added in madden and some things i would like to see taken out. also, its time for a change in graphics, a major one, imo.

What about Getting Skinny, the STRAFE BUTTON on Defense,
Defensive Matchups...do those count?

madden has included these things with the exception of defensive matchups. why is it when madden adds things they are copying but when 2k adds things that madden has they are groundbreaking?
