Opinion Thread: Is Matt Leinart's Career Over?

With Leinart getting released and picked up by Houston as their "third string QB", who thinks his career is over? Personally, I think if he works hard and does his best to show that he has potential that he could get another shot. If he is indeed put behind Dan Orlovsky, who had a horrible last game of the preseason, that could spell doom for Leinart.

it hasnt even started yet. Hes going to need another starting opportunity, a legit one, and hes going to have to blow that, yet even then, he could cling to some back up roles for years before calling it a career.

It's only over if he doesn't take this the right way and show more work ethic. If he continues to be lackadaisacal (sp) and go through the motions then you might as well stick a fork in his career.

Who knows if all that was really true though, it seems like the Cardinals were looking for every excuse not to give the guy a fair shake.

Really? It doesn't look like that to me? How exactly were they not giving the guy a fair shake?

Why would they possibly want to do that?

Because I heard Ken Whisenhunt is extremely biased towards better QBs.

Yeah, it's not like they had an incentive to give their 1st round draft pick a fair shake or put the best team on the field.

He'll be in the league holding clipboards for a few years no doubt, I think he'll just mainly be a career backup coming in on spot duty.

Looking back at that draft just about everyone was sure he would at least turn out to be a solid starter.
