Yeah, this always comes up after something like this happens. Yet coaches keep doing it.

Yeah more times then not it works against the coach trying to ice the kicker, the Saints pretty much ran over the line on the 1st attempt and had a nice block but nope

most useless coaching move in sports. i cheer for any kicker who gets iced to make it. putting your faith in calling a timeout, phooey.

At first I lol'd because they blocked it, but the announcer said afterwards that the line gave up when they heard the whistle which allowed the Saints to come in so easy.

Regarding the rule, I don't like it. And quite honestly, nowadays, it might be better to just not call the TO and let the guy kick it. You know the kicker will be thinking about a TO the entire time and it might throw him off when it's not called. Who knows. lol.

The way I see it is that you can't take extra timeouts with you into the locker room at halftime nor home with you at the end of the game. No harm in using them.

Fine. Call them beforehand. Don't sit there and stand by a ref and call it 1 millisecond before the ball is snapped. I don't mind icing the kicker in general. I just mind how it's used nowadays.

Re: Week 3: Falcons @ Saints

If the kicker is good he will make them anyways. To let a timeout get in your head is weakness.

This is professional football. Kicker get paid a lot of money to do only 1 thing kick the ball. No excuses. This is no different than a defender laying on guys to help run the clock. Whatever you can do to win within the rules are OK with me.

Of all the rules I would change this would be towards the bottom if at all.
