The Steelers would benefit from their bevy of illegal hits.

I like how when T.J. Ward lowered his shoulder in Jordan Shipleys helmet, he's the dirtiest player to ever walk the earth.

When James Harrison does it to 2 players with TWO HELMET TO HELMET hits, he's just playing angry.

Whatever.

Regarding the "helmet to helmet" plays. The first was helmet to helmet as Woodley was tackling Cribbs. Only reason I think they let that go was that Woodley was tackling Cribbs at the same time Harrison was diving towards him. The second didn't look like a helmet to helmet hit. It looked like shoulder to helmet. I'm fine with that play. This isn't checkers...it's the NFL. As I said to EG on Facebook, I'd hate to see this league pussify itself anymore than it already has.

As always, many heads are clouded by bias. I'd have to see both plays in super slow motion again to make a better judgement, but I'm pretty comfortable believing the first hit was dirty, but the second was not.
Harrison's KO over the middle was hard to judge. I don't think it was helmet to helmet, though. Looked like he hit him with his shoulder, like you said.

I'll never call a player dirty for a hit over the middle. You go over the middle against any respectable NFL defense, you better expect to get smashed. Hines Ward does it all the time, he doesn't care if he gets nailed with a cheap hit, he encourages players to put bounties on him.

The one on Cribbs wasn't dirty at all, I don't even think that one is worth discussing. Harrison himself wasn't trying to hit him in the head the way it turned out, as soon as he delivered the hit you could see the concern from him. It was just bad timing, the way Cribbs was going down. It could have been anybody making that hit, it was a textbook hit.

You gotta love the Steelers prevent D. "We've held you to nothing all game, so here, take the entire field and make the game closer than it should be."

I wish they would just hold a team without a touchdown instead of just giving up yards like they're nothing at the end of a game.

Except one wasn't helmet to helmet (as far as I could tell).

Truthfully, I was fine with Ward's hit. I think too many people can't decipher between physical and dirty. Like I said before, this isn't checkers...it's the NFL. There are a lot of very strong, large individuals moving very fast crashing into one another. It's a violent game. Truthfully, I like it that way.

Well I'll admit that McCoy looks A LOT better than I ever thought he did.

Keep him playing. Looks to be promising.
