Is Laron Landry the best safety in the league right now?

If I WANTED to play the homer card, I could easily throw Nick Collins name into the conversation of a Top 5 Safety, especially if were going off his play the last few years.

But I won't do that because that's not my style. Glad to see folks are still playing the "If" card though. Never gets old.

you wouldn't be a homer. he has been dynamic the past few seasons. i would put him if not in the top 5 or so, right on the fringe of it. is nick a free safety or strong? he is a free right?

Which is my point, the Skins in a 3-4 are a worse-off defense. Having given up an ATROCIOUS league worst 2,520 yards on the ground. Landry is the recipent of a D-Line not suited to stuff the run in a 3-4, and being able to make tackles because the ball carrier is getting to the Skins 2nd level w/ ease.

Last year the Skins were 10th in yards allowed while being in the 4-3, and Landry was the weak link of the D.

So your D goes from 10th in yards allowed, to last a year later, and now we are praising Landry? I don't get it.

EDIT: Give me Quinten Mikell any day over Laron Landry.

Yup he's a FS and he's thrived in both Defenses for us(4-3 and 3-4)these last few years.

again, i don't buy into the landry hype, but you mean the same mikell that looked like landry and made torain look like brandon jacobs? that guy? and i am not sure, but even being as bad as they are, the skins have no way given up over 2000 yards rushing already this season. that is over 400 rushing yards per game, doubt it...
